RATES
My hourly rate is $50.00 (minimum of two hours) plus photocopy costs.  
I also have flat rates for certain projects.  

FLAT RATE PROJECTS:

  • Navy Deck Logs (Vietnam)

    I charge a flat fee of $200.00 (plus photocopy costs of $.25 a page)
    to look through one year or two Vietnam cruises. I can also provide
    digital scans instead of photocopies at no charge.  I copy ALL
    pages from when your ship entered the waters in and around
    Vietnam.  Call if you only need a specific month or specific days
    and I will work with you on my rate.  In some cases, I charge a flat
    fee of $100.00 if you know the exact dates.

  • Civil War Pension Record: $50.00

  • Pre-WWI Campaign Medal Records: $50.00

  • Army General Orders if you know the number: $30.00

  • Missing Aircrew Reports (WWII): $30.00

  • Navy Officer Biographies (WWII through Vietnam): $25.00

  • Navy Award Citations in an individual's file: $25.00

  • Marine Corps Award Citations (WWI through Vietnam): $25.00

  • Marine Corps Casualty Cards (WWII through Vietnam): $25.00

HOURLY RATE PROJECTS:

  • Civil War Deck Logs - usually bound and can only be photographed
    or scanned with the overhead book scanner ($1.00/page)

  • WWII and Korean War Deck Logs

  • Navy Muster Rolls & War Diaries (WWII through Vietnam)

  • Army After Action Reports/Unit Records (WWII through Vietnam)

  • USMC Command Chronologies (Korea and Vietnam)

  • Army Award Case Files (WWII through Vietnam)

  • OSS Personnel Records

DIGITAL SCANS:

    I use a high speed scanner and do not charge for digital images
    instead of photocopying.  The National Archives charges
    $.25 a page for self service photocopies and $.75 a page if they do it
    for you.  Scanning saves a lot of time and money.
